Aims & Objectives of House System
The fundamental purpose of these house system found in a high school are,
- They exist to divide a large school into small, permanent, faculty-led, cross-sectional human friendly components; that promote both learning & loyalty
- The students feel personally secure while the academic curriculum works to stretch their abilities.
- It serves to provide a motivating school climate, promoting student’s achievement and builds bonds, accuracy, speed obedience.
- To administer academic and sport activities effectively and efficiently.
- To develops team spirit and strive together towards one title.
- To provide opportunities for students’ growth through leadership, mentoring competition and social interacting.
How Does House System Work?
- Houses are inter-school teams that work together and compete against one another in academics, athletics, service projects, arts and other activities that strive together under one title
- Each house is regulated and mentored by House Mistress (Staff member) that serves to surprise students organisational meeting, etc.
- The oldest students of IX and X are eligible to be elected as House Captains. There are subsequent captains elected for different faculties like Games Captain, Cleanliness Captain, Sports Captain.
- There are Head Girl, Assistant Head Girl and Faculty Assistant Captains.
- A closed committee of faculty assigns the students to each house with the aim of balance and healthy competition.
- Coloured House T-shirts are given to students as per their house colour which is worn for school events, competitions to promote team spirit.
