The Eco Club is also popularly known as Nature Club is an association of 190 students from Std. VIII & IX who meet regularly with a view to develop a concern about the importance of ecological balance and love of nature. The World’s population is constantly increasing adding to ecological problems of imbalance between growth and the resources of our planet.

  • On August 01. 2007, the Principal inaugurated the auspicious occasion of ‘Vanmahotsav Day’ to set the activities of the Club rolling. With a view to appreciate nature in all its glory, a series of activities were conducted by the members during the year 2007-08.
  • To celebrate ‘Animal Welfare Day’ an educational film ‘Beauty without Cruelty‘ was exhibited on the 4th of October 2007. A ‘Salad Making‘ competition was held on ‘Green Consumer Day’ which was a real learning experience enjoyed by all the members. To inculcate the three ‘R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, a workshop was conducted wherein the students were taught to make envelopes from used waste paper. On April 11, 2008, a field trip was organised to visit the Parle-G Biscuit factory at Vile Parle to acquaint all members about the nutritional value of biscuits consuming and manufacturing.
  • The Club has purchased Educational Charts on Nature related subjects which are prominently displayed in the School premises.
  • A nominal amount of Rs. 100.00 per member was collected from the participants to cover costs. The Educational Department also contributed a sum of Rs. 2,500.00 as an aid to the School which was deeply appreciated by the Club. Snacks and Transport were provided to the members to make the outing comfortable and interesting. Out of a gross collection of Rs. 21,400.00, a sum of Rs. 19,850.00 was utilised for expenses during the whole year and a surplus balance of Rs. 1,550.00 has been kept aside for the maintenance of the AQUARIUM in the School.
