Vachan Prerna Divas” or Reading Inspiration Day was celebrated on 15th October 2020 in honor of our former President of India Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who was also a distinguished and a dignified scientist, teacher, author, professor, and a policymaker. Dr. Kalam was very much inspired by reading and writing, which he practiced wholeheartedly, hence October 15, which is his birth anniversary has been declared as Vachan Prerna Divas. Despite being endowed with such great qualities, the most endearing feature of his personality was his simplicity.

The Vachan Prerna Divas was celebrated in every school not only to pay tribute to Dr. Kalam but also to encourage the students to inculcate the habit of reading and writing and thus inspire them to follow his dream of Youth Empowerment

Taking account of the occasion the teachers from standard 1st to 10th conducted a Reading Inspiration program for the students on the aforementioned date and accordingly gave information and videos of Dr. Kalam’s achievements

The teachers emphasized the importance of reading and writing to the students to make them aware that these habits improve concentration, vocabulary, and develop language and writing skills. Reading also helps their imagination, soars, and relaxes and calms their minds. The teachers also cited examples of many great personalities, who reached great heights due to their reading and writing habits.

The teachers further summed up that “Books are our friends, so forget them not”. In fact, Books do not expect anything but offer you a lot and give you knowledge of all sorts.
