Appeal for financial assistance for Structural Repairs to the School Building

The Young Ladies High School was established over 132 years ago by the eminent educationist the late Seth Dadabhoy Master, a pioneer in the field of female education in this city. Today, the School has over 500 students on the roll receiving education from Nursery to Std X (SSC Board) with a total of 25 qualified teachers under the leadership of Miss Graceline Thiravayaraj, Principal.

This is to inform you that many of our parents have lost their job in this pandemic and are not able to pay the school fees. It’s our humble request if any one of you can help these students, so that their academics are not affected.

The School is constituted under the Trust Deed October 31, 1958, and the Application has been entered at No.TR/512 in the Register of Applications under Section 12-A(a) maintained in the office of the C.I.T., Bombay City. The school has been duly registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 and the Number in the Register of Public Trusts is E-929(BOM) on the 11th day of March 1954.

The Trust is committed to imparting quality education to female students and training them to become responsible parents and citizens. The school has a very wide spectrum of co-curricular activities such as Girl Guides, Computer Instruction, Field and Educational Trips, and participation in social activities promoted by bodies such as Rotary Club, Lion’s Club, and others.

The School is managed by the Trustees along with the sub-committees for quality education and effective administration. The academic progress is under the Principal who is responsible for the high standard of education.

The Fee Structure is very moderate compared to other similar institutions. Rs 1,000/- in Pre-Primary section, Rs 2,200/- Primary Section and Rs 2,400/- Secondary Section. The fees have intentionally been kept low to make sure that no parent is dissuaded from educating the girl child and we can reach out to those where education can be a means to a better life.

The school runs from Trafford House, 33, Murzban Road, Fort, Mumbai 400001. The school building is very old and needs extensive structural repairs. The trust needs funds which as per the structural audit report are estimated at over Rs 80.00 lakh. We request philanthropic persons like you to donate wholeheartedly to the cause.
